Bashphelt are a hard working four piece who are constantly developing their distinctive and unique sound. They are highly committed to each other and since January 2007, their every move has been captured on camera for the documentary they are making. With persistence, a focused attitude and steady TV appearances, who knows what the future may hold for Bashphelt....

2005 - Bashphelt regrouped and committed to the cause in August. Previous to this, since their formation in 2000 they had always made a point of playing in their home district (Pendle), Burnley and Manchester as much as possible. This ensured a steady following in the North West in between studying and traveling.
The main aim when they regrouped was to get gigs further afield, concentrating on London. They kicked this off by playing at 'The Watershed' in Wimbledon and a sellout gig at 'The Mean Fiddler' in consecutive nights in November. They returned to London to play at 'Storm' in December before breaking off for Christmas.
2006 - Whilst continuing to play the Northern circuit, they visited London once a month before April to play gigs at the 'West 1 4 bar', the 'Hope and Anchor' and the 'Hard Rock Cafe'. In April, they entered a competition on www.popworldpromotes.com and were crowned the first winners of the competition, fending off 550 bands in a public vote. This earned them a prime TV slot on T4's POPWORLD and they became the first unsigned act to appear on the show.
This success left Bashphelt's diary full for the rest of 2006, starting with showcases at 'The Garage', the 'Halfmoon', the 'Gibson Guitar Studios' and the 'Hammersmith Palais'. They also played prominent venues and festivals such as 'Manchester Academy 2', 'Guilfest', 'Reading Fringe Festival', 'Lancaster University', 'Sheffield University' and many other UK dates.
2007 - Bashphelt wasted no time by playing a showcase at 'Ritz Studios' in Putney on the 22nd January. They had also begun to film a documentary with Bryan Fieldhouse on the 20th January, which is proving to be a priceless asset to the band as progress continues.
On the 21st February Bashphelt played at London's renowned 'Discovery Talent' at the Soho 'Revue Bar', which attracted attention from the media and press throughout London. After this they kept touring to keep the momentum and an intriguing vibe throughout the industry. One of these gigs in June was a sellout gig at the 'Night and Day' in Manchester with 'Scouting for Girls', who had recently hit number 1 in the UK charts. After this, Bashphelt played at Guilfest again and then went on to record 4 new tracks at MJM studios with Mark Jones, who is renowned for his work with 'Peter Gabriel', 'Black Grape' and recently 'Goldfrapp' .
August was a break for Bashphelt on the gigging front and was used as a time to introduce new recordings to their fans. This was until they entered a competition called 'MobileAct Unsigned' on www.mobileact.co.uk. Bashphelt were chosen out of 2000 bands to go through to the final 50 in the televised phase of the competition, where they achieved more exposure on T4. They then went on to play gigs at the 'Camden Barfly', 'In the City' in Manchester, 'Clothes Show Live' at the Birmingham NEC and also received a clothes endorsement by Bench clothing.
2008 - Bashphelt kicked off the year by filming for 'Artboo TV' (Channel Red 186) on the 3rd January, they then spent the rest of January finishing off new songs and practicing their set for February.
The band kicked off the month by playing a showcase @ 'the Halfmoon' in London, the band then traveled up North to play with 'Palladium' and 'Alphabeat' on their Leeds and Manchester dates. The rest of the month was then spent in the rehearsal room for an upcoming recording session, where they were to work with record producers 'the Animal Farm' in London, renowned recently for their work with 'One night only'.
This is an exciting journey for Bashphelt as they grow from strength to strength
